About the exhibition
Meredith Ward Fine Art presents the online exhibition, she / her / hers, a celebration of five women artists - Flora Crockett, Pat Lasch, Edith Schloss, Clara Tice, and Gertrude Barrer - whose diverse works span the 20th and 21st centuries. From Tice’s wry and subversive Dada drawings of the 1910s, to Crockett’s boldly innovative abstractions, Barrer's surrealist inventions, Schloss’s whimsical color explorations, and finally to Lasch’s luscious yet brooding cake sculptures, each of these artists broke the mold of what was possible in the art of their own time, and each expands our horizons of what art can be.
Since its founding, Meredith Ward Fine Art has been dedicated to re-discovering and advancing women artists, whose talent and artistic contributions have not received the recognition they deserve. The gallery has mounted multiple solo exhibitions of four of the artists shown here to bring their work to a broader audience.
